ITIL® V2-V3 Foundation Bridge

What will this course do for me?

This two day course is designed to help those delegates having already invested in their ITIL education and who currently hold the ITIL Foundation (version 2) to progress with the new ITIL version 3 examination structure.

Target Group

Individuals who require an understanding of the new v3 ITIL framework and how it may be used to enhance the quality of IT Service Management within an organisation
IT Professionals who are working within an organisation that has adopted and adapted ITIL who need the latest knowledge to take Service Management further

Learning Objectives

You will understand how the ITIL service lifecycle approach processes can support the business by improving IT operations. In particular, you will:

Receive an overview of ITIL’s key concepts, definitions, objectives and certification levels, and how ITIL processes can improve IT operations
Understand, in depth, ITIL’s service lifecycle approach and its five key stages
Examine the structure, components and processes of the five core ITIL books
For each of the five core books in the service lifecycle:
- Review the main activities, goals, benefits, challenges and management reporting for the respective processes
- Outline the relationships between the processes
- Be aware of the new key ITIL definitions and what has changed in v3

Prerequisite Entry Criteria

Candidates must currently hold a Foundation certificate in a previous version of ITIL.

Examination

The course ends with a 30 minute ‘closed book’ multiple-choice paper with 20 questions. The pass mark for this is 65%, (13 out of 20).
